| The 2012, 13 Colonies stations will operate 12:01 AM Eastern start on July 1st, (That's one minute after midnight, early Sunday morning, July 1st) to 11:59 PM Eastern ending on July 5th (One minute to midnight, late Thursday night, July 5th). | |||||
| Recognizing that the 4th comes in the middle of the week (Wednesday) and that some operators will be going to their work on the 2nd, 3rd and 5th, we will add a BONUS DAY on Saturday, 30 June 2012!! Stations will operate from 09:00 AM Eastern right through until the 5th. Keep in mind that there may be fewer operators available on the work days so, PLEASE BE PATIENT! | |||||
| There will be at least two S.E. stations per colony state. Also included will be Super contest stations, multi-operator Club stations & OM & XYL teams. | |||||

| The theme for 2012 is "Colonial Era US Navy Tall Ships". Old Ironsides adorns the 2012 certificate , printed on heavy card stock - very cool. You can work one state or, all 13 and, be eligible for the certificate. A "Clean Sweep" indicator will also be affixed, for those lucky enough to "Q" all 13. | |||||
| Each year a completely new design with a new Independence Era Patriotic theme..NICE! | |||||
| Please have patience! We made 12,500 "Q"s in 2009, 34,273 in 2010 and 40,189 in 2011! For 2012 we expect that "Q" figure to increase dramatically, especially if Propagation & weather is better, and static/QRN levels are lower. Pile-Ups will be a ZOO! but we will be prepared. We have learned a lot from 2009 - 2011, and we will employ some different tactics to hear everybody. But please remember that our main goal is not to make a contest out of this. This is a special event to honor our Independence, but bagging all 13 will be nice-Right? | |||||
| NOTE: One contact with a Thirteen Colonies state is sufficient for credit for that state. Additional contacts on other bands or with the other state stations will not get you any more credit. Please limit yourselves to one contact per state, so that others may have a chance. | |||||
| This will give the stations with "no gain" antenna's, stations working 100W, QRP/Mobiles and DX a chance to get all "13" too! We are out to have some fun this 4th of July week, and will try to appease everyone. We thank you for your consideration in advance.. | |||||
